Michael David Sturlin is an award winning goldsmith, studio jewelry artist, and educator.
With his first gold creation in 1975 Michael recognized the challenges and the possibilities of working with precious metal. Developing an affinity for the material and a talent for the process he has continued creating imaginative and elegant jewelry for three decades.
Michael’s minimalist design essence and his skills as a goldsmith have brought international acclaim and awards from the World Gold Council and the American Jewelry Design Council. His signature hand crocheted jewelry is featured in prominent publications and is available in select galleries across North America.
In addition to his studio practice Michael is a respected teacher, offering jewelry classes, goldsmithing workshops and professional development seminars. His presentations for MJSA Expo New York “Great Minds of Jewelry Education Program” and AJM magazine’s “At the Bench Live” are popular attractions.
Michael is a member of the faculty of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, a member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths and the Jewelry Design Professionals Network.
